MarineMax Celebrates Successful Getaways!® Season with Community Impact

CLEARWATER, FL (September 3, 2024)—With boating season in full swing at MarineMax, their Getaways! continue to thrive not just with endless fun but also with community involvement. They are delighted to see their and their customers' impact on the communities they had the privilege to visit this year.

MarineMax is deeply rooted in both local and global communities. They are dedicated to making a positive impact on every place they visit. Their efforts, from local charity events to significant global initiatives, reflect their commitment to leaving a meaningful and lasting impression.

Karla Millan, National Events and Partnership Manager, comments, "As we wrap up another incredible season, we are honored to see the difference we were able to make alongside our customers in the communities we've visited. From supporting local education needs to enriching the lives of children through meaningful experiences, our commitment to positive change has never been stronger. Together, we're not just visiting these places but making a lasting impact."

Their philanthropic journey during Getaways! began in 2023 with the Galeon Owners Spring Rendezvous, where MarineMax supported the Wesley House Family Services in Key West, FL. Customers participated in a scavenger hunt, collecting items that would benefit the Wesley House. Once customers completed the scavenger hunt, they could donate the items to families in need.

Additionally, their East Florida Team has been actively involved with Place of Hope, participating in key events such as The Palm Event and Hope Bash earlier this year. These contributions supported Place of Hope's mission to provide safe and nurturing environments for children and families in need.

In the summer of 2024, the Azimut Owners Summer Rendezvous provided an exciting opportunity to support The Boys & Girls Club of Newport, R.I., by donating enriching on-water experiences for local kids. These activities will allow the children of Newport to enjoy the water throughout the year, promoting their well-being and development.

Building on this momentum, the 2024 Galeon Owners Summer Rendezvous focused on Harbour Island Outreach, which was founded by MarineMax’s team members, James Corts, and Suzanne Hatcher, in 2023 after the warmth and hospitality they received from the Harbour Island Community during one of their Getaways!. They engaged their own children in an outreach initiative aimed at supporting local students. With the assistance of Joe Dargavage and Lorria Whitfield of Romora Bay Resort and Marina, they organized a 'mini-school supply drive' for the children of Harbour Island. They packed their boat with backpacks and school supplies and, alongside their children, distributed the items around the island using golf carts.

After the Galeon Rendezvous, they donated school supplies to the All Age School and the Green School, Harbour Island's only educational institutions. This effort was instrumental in supporting the education of the island's youth. James and Suzanne were fortunate enough to head down to the island to distribute all of the school supplies donated throughout the summer.

MarineMax is proud to support various organizations dedicated to improving the lives of children and families. Through these efforts, MarineMax reaffirms its commitment to creating positive change and supporting the communities where we operate.
