MarineMax Completes Acquisition of Shelter Bay Marina in Marathon, Florida

OLDSMAR, FL (March 10, 2025)— MarineMax, the world’s largest recreational boat and yacht retailer, announced Thursday that it has acquired Shelter Bay Marina in Marathon, Florida.

Located in the heart of the Florida Keys, MarineMax Marathon, formerly Shelter Bay Marina, offers boaters a premier destination with a variety of services and amenities tailored to enhance the boating experience. Known for its deep-water slips, the marina accommodates vessels of all sizes, from small boats to large yachts, and provides direct access to the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean. With a full-service fuel dock, boat repair and maintenance services, dry storage options, and an unmatched location, MarineMax Marathon serves as the gateway to some of the best cruising and fishing in the world.

As part of the acquisition, MarineMax is dedicated to expanding service offerings and elevating the marina experience for local and visiting boaters. The marina will now be a fully operational sales location, offering premium boat brands such as Aquila Power Catamarans, Boston Whaler, Scout, Sea Ray, Aviara, and Cruisers Yachts. This development brings more options for boaters and delivers world-class boating solutions.
