Day 1 - Abell Point Marina to Nara Inlet
Watch the mainland disappear as you cruise across the glorious Whitsunday Passage to overnight in the fjord-like Nara Inlet. Discover ancient Aboriginal caves with painting dating back 9,000 years and watch the phosphorescent glow in the water at night. -
Day 2 - Nara Inlet to Stonehaven on Hook Island
Pull up anchor and head to Stonehaven Bay on Hook Island picking up one of the many moorings available before going for a snorkel on the fringing reef straight from the back of your boat. Light up the BBQ for lunch and chill out with a good book on deck for the afternoon. -
Day 3 - Stonehaven to Lagford and Butterfly Bay
Only a stones throw from Stonehaven is Langford Island, a small island with a sand spit that exposes itself at low tide. Go for a snorkel before heading up to the lookout, overlooking the reef and across to Hook Island and Hayman Island. Set sail through ‘The Narrows’ to the northern end of Hook Island to Butterfly Bay. Colonies of butterflies frequent this bay and is a sight to see. Kayak or paddleboard close to the shore and explore the many beaches. -
Day 4 - Butterfly to Cateran Bay
Set sail and head south to Border Island where you can choose to snorkel or sit back on the deck of the boat and relax in the serenity. Cook up a feast for lunch on the BBQ on the back deck of the boat and perhaps a little afternoon snooze from all the exploring you’ve been doing. -
Day 5 - Cateran Bay to Whitehaven Beach
A bareboat holiday without visiting Whitehaven Beach is like not having vegemite for breakfast – it just doesn’t happen. Head across to Hill Inlet at the northern tip of Whitehaven Beach, taking the short stroll to the lookout where the swirling colours of the blue water and white sand creates champagne patterns throughout the day. For your overnight stay, drop anchor at the southern end of Whitehaven Beach and stroll through pure white silica sand that squeaks when you walk on it. There’s another short walk to another lookout, overlooking Solway Passage. -
Day 6 - Whitehaven Beach to Cid Harbour
Cid Harbour is a stunning natural harbour with several small sandy beaches, a popular first and last night anchorage for bareboats and well walking tracks through the rainforest. Cid Harbour is an excellent spot to really relax and wind down, ready to return back to Abell Point Marina. Keep your eyes out for dugongs and turtles! -
Day 7 - Cid Harbour to Abell Point Marina, Airlie Beach
Awake on your last morning of your charter and enjoy a BBQ breakfast on the back deck of your boat. Charterers need to be back in Abell Point Marina by 10am so give yourself plenty of time and make the most of the Whitsunday Passage and get as much boating in as possible before your return.
