National Marine Manufacturers Association released in February 2020 that outboard sales increased for the eighth consecutive year in 2019. New registrations of powerboats were up 6 percent in November 2019 on a rolling three-month, year-over-year basis. Sales of new PWC and wake-sport boats were each up 6 percent on a 12-month year-over-year basis and up 16 percent and 11 percent, respectively, on a rolling three-month, year-over-year basis. Boat retailers also reported improvement in inventory levels and overall growth in January, according to the Pulse Report, a survey administered by Baird Equity Research in conjunction with the Marine Retailers Association of the Americas and Soundings Trade Only to gauge retail trends on a monthly basis.
