National Marine Manufacturers Association released in July 2020 that manufacturing activity rose in May after a production shutdown in April. Seasonally adjusted wholesale shipments of outboard engines, PWCs, wake sport boats, and jet boats all saw jumps, ranging from 19% to 160% compared to April. The data also showed an historic increase in personal watercraft (PWC) seasonally adjusted sales in May 2020, up 59% compared to April and up 75% compared to May 2019. The trends show promising signs for the boating industry during a time of economic uncertainty.
